If board sports are fun, it’s because they bring happiness to those who are still a child at heart and revel in defying the laws of gravity. This winter, ski and snowboard in the most beautiful locations in the French Alps : Val d’Isère, Tignes, Chamonix, Argentière, Serre Chevalier…

ALPINE SKIING

Our most versatile offer, suitable for all levels. It allows you to sample the many different aspects of an activity that is undergoing a major revival thanks to the latest developments in equipment: freestyle, freeride, carving…

We ensure that you make progress with your skiing whatever the terrain or the quality of snow.

At UCPA all varieties of Alpine skiing are possible according to your level, your expectations and the local conditions.

 

Skiing off-piste

Freeride off-piste : For skiers of "Expert" level. Depending on the local conditions, you can forest freeride, steep slope and glacier… Your chance to explore all off-piste locations.

Off-piste skiing : For skiers of "Advanced" level who wish to try out off-piste skiing on the most beautiful downhill runs.

 

Levels

Beginner : You are trying this experience for the first time and/or you are not experienced enough to ski alone.

Improver : One to three weeks skiing. You can tackle green slopes with complete confidence and some blue ones. You are learning to control your speed and direction.

Intermediate : You can control your speed and direction on blue slopes. You can tackle red slopes when the terrain is smooth, with more difficulty when it is lumpy.

Advanced : You are making comfortable progress at controlling your skis (or your board) on all the slopes in the area, even if you are less comfortable on more uneven terrain (lumps, ice, powdery snow…

Expert : You are experienced enough to read the terrain and to adapt your technique to all situations: competition slopes, lumps, changes in snow conditions, off-piste. You can execute wedels and wide arcs on any terrain.

 

Equipment provided

Multipurpose skis, boots, ski sticks.

 

 

SNOWBOARDING

Gliding downhill on a snowboard is a unique and pleasurable experience. Versatile and accessible, snowboarding is also a state of mind, which has injected new energy into all snow sports.

With the UCPA group you can choose from the latest different snowboarding options: learning, improving, on the slopes, in snowparks, on the edges of the slopes… whatever your level.

 

Freestyle

In some of our sites we offer a ‘’freestyle’’ option, the trend of the moment. Our instructors will have great pleasure in introducing you to it using suitable equipment and protective clothing (helmets and back protectors) so that you can make use of the snowparks. To take part in this activity, it is recommended that you are at "Advanced" level.

 

Levels

Beginner : You are learning this activity for the first time and/or you are not experienced enough to snowboard alone.

Improver : One to two weeks skiing. You can tackle green and blue slopes with confidence. You are beginning to control your speed and direction.

Intermediate : You are making confident progress on the red slopes. You are learning to vary your speed and direction.

Locations

All our activities are organised in well known locations chosen for the high quality snowboarding they offer. Snow machines, prepared slopes, snowparks, fast ski-lifts, ski resorts are making more and more effort to offer the best conditions possible. Areas for beginners, slalom stadia, snowparks, boarding on all types of snow, the slopes are a large playground that our instructors will help you to enjoy.
