Technical level and effort

Technical level: from Advanced
You are able to ski with ease (varied series of bends) on all runs, even if you find bumpier terrain harder (moguls, powder…).


Physical intensity: **
You do a bit of jogging, dancing, cycling or other sport.


Arrival day

Reception from 08.00. Breakfast, accommodation, collection of equipment and skipass valid from day one of the course. If you would like accommodation with your friends, please apply to the centre by email the week before your stay.

Free afternoon - our teams will provide all necessary information to set you up for your holiday in the snow: safety advice, weather info, snow conditions, info on the runs.

In the evening, UCPA staff will provide all information on supervised sessions beginning the next day: group allocation, meeting times, highlights of the week.



If you have purchased the "arrival night before" option , please come to the centre between 17.00 and 20.00. Meal served between 19.30 and 20.30


Departure day

The holiday ends on Saturday by 2pm at the latest.

Access

If you are coming by car.
From Bourg-Saint-Maurice, take the CD 119 towards Arc 1600, then the Arc 2000 road as far as the village of Deux Têtes, which is about 19km from Bourg-Saint-Maurice.
Free, outdoor and unsupervised parking is available below the centre (100m away).

If you are coming by train
At Bourg-Saint-Maurice SNCF train station catch the Martin bus service (around €10 for a single ticket, For information call +33 (0)4 79 07 04 49) or the funicular that leaves from the station for Arcs 1600 (every half an hour between 8.30am and 7.00pm - approx. €8 for a single). Then take the free inter-resort shuttle bus for Arcs 2000 (stops outside the centre).

Administrative formalities

You will be asked for a deposit of 100 Euros (cheque or cash) when you arrive. It will be returned at the end of your stay, subject to damage to equipment and/or premises.


Health formalities

No contra indications with regard to physical exertion or serious medical treatment.

Check-in:
On Sunday morning.
Programme ends early afternoon on Saturday.


Tuition information

23 hours of supervision from day 2 to day 6 (1 or 2 sessions per day).
Group for the week decided on the basis of your technical level.
Equipment provided for course activity.
Day type : 1 session in the morning + 1 in the afternoon or 1 full-day excursion.

At 1765m above sea level and looking down on the Haute-Tarentaise valley, the resort of Arc 1 600 is positioned at the edge of the Vanoise national park, where the Mont-Blanc, Beaufortain and Vanoise ranges meet.
A site that is favoured for hiking, mountain biking, climbing and paragliding, the centre is situated 5 minutes from the resort, at the heart of the forest.

Personal Equipment

For snowsports: 1 anorak, 1 pair of ski pants or 1 pair of salopettes, 1 or 2 jumpers or fleeces, 1 thermal vest, 1 good pair of gloves or mittens, 1 ski hat, 1 pair of U.V filter sunglasses, 1 pair of ski goggles, 1 high factor suncream, 1 lip balm.



Please bring a padlock to lock your cupboard or secure your equipment (available on loan for a deposit of 5 Euros), a drinks bottle and a small rucksack for meals on the slopes. Please bring a towel (sheets provided by UCPA).

Snowboard and boots.
Protection + safety equipment (avalanche beacon, shovel, probe).
