Summer Activities in Chamonix

From climbing Mont Blanc to learning to Rock Climb, Chamonix has something for everyone. The big mountains are what has made the valley famous, but spending a week in the sun on a UCPA Multisport week is a great way to explore what the Chamonix Valley has to offer.

Alpinism

Chamonix is often described as the birthplace of alpinism and it has been at the cutting edge of the sport for many years. For beginner and experienced alpinists alike Chamonix is the perfect place to come and develop your skills. Alpinism is the practice of mountain climbing using a combination of techniques to travel safely over a variety of terrain including snow, rock and ice. The UCPA’s courses are designed to give you the skills required to operate safely and independently in the Alpine environment.

Climbing

The Chamonix valley offers superb possibilities for rock climbing with a number of different rock types within the local area. Rock climbing is a superb way to explore the mountains and allows you to see the world from a slightly new perspective. The UCPA offer two different climbing courses from single pitch sport up to a big wall climbing course.

Multisport

Chamonix UCPA also offers a ‘Multisport’ holiday to allow you to take advantage of all the great activities the valley has to offer. The multisport course offers you to try your hand at climbing, canyoning, scrambling, via ferrata and learn glacier skills.
