As a not-for-profit organisation, UCPA trips are as low-cost as possible. The founding ethos behind UCPA was to encourage young people in to the outdoors, to learn and share experiences. This is still the case today.

In order to keep costs as low as possible, guests clear dishes away after eating and wipe the tables down, likewise bedrooms are to be cleaned at the end of the week. It's no burden at all, plus it is great for student responsibility and independence.

Available Dates

Ski trips for students are available in December, January, March & April, with limited early February dates (but not half term). The Easter holidays are a really popular time for ski trips with both the UK and the French schools due to the quiet pistes, spring snow and plenty of sunshine.

Prices vary throughout the season. To find out more, make an enquiry below.

Booking and Prices

Choose your dates and preferred resort, contact us for a quote and then get booked on with a 10% deposit.

The school rates start with a minimum of 10 people. The adult cost is the same rate as the students and free places apply when 31 people are booked on.

If numbers change, we can cancel up to 20% free of charge if done more than 90 days before the trip. Or, if numbers increase, just let us know and we can add people on where places are available.

Daily Itinerary

As everything is on site, UCPA instructors will meet the students at a meeting point in the centre, meaning that the teachers don’t need to transport/accompany children to and from the pistes.

Lessons start on Monday afternoon and the final lesson is Friday afternoon. Lessons are typically 2.5 hours, with a 2 hour lunch break (exact timetables can change from centre to centre and from week to week). There is just one session on a Wednesday and therefore a total of around 20 hours of lessons during the week.  Outside of the lessons, the teachers will be responsible for the students. You may want to take some extra activities for the lunch time, or other down time.

You may also want to research and arrange extra activities for your group for after the ski lessons (if you think the students will have enough energy!) e.g. swimming, luges, sledging, bowling, ice skating, cinema. At some centres, it may be possible to arrange extra activities (e.g. snowshoeing) instead of a ski session, or during the Wednesday half day off - just let us know if you would like us to find out more.

Risk Assessments

All UCPA centres have a valid operating licence, public liability insurance and comply with EU and French standards in accommodation, activities and working with children. We can provide an example risk assessment, though obviously as we don’t know your group dynamics and behaviour, only you can ensure that risks are assessed for your group and appropriate control measures put in place.

Financial Security

Action Outdoors is a member of ABTA so financial security is assured. UCPA has been running group activity holidays for more than 50 years and Action Outdoors have been making these trips available to English speaking clients for over 15 years. Both UCPA and Action Outdoors are well versed on the needs of schools and colleges and are very experienced in organising and delivering affordable and successful ski trips.
