Argentiere-outside

UCPA Argentiere

UCPA Argentiere is located on the village's main street, only meters from the local bars, bakeries and shops. The historic Victorian building was fully refurbished in 2013 making it one of the newest and most comfortable UCPA centres. Within the centre there is an equipment room, a drying room, a dining hall, a bar and plenty of social space to relax after a hard day on the slopes.

Argentiere is part of the Chamonix valley, sharing the same ski areas as the world famous town. The various ski areas are spread along the valley. The largest and most famous ski area 'Grand Montets' is in the village of Argentiere and is easily accessible from the UCPA. The other ski areas are accessed by bus. There are free buses regularly servicing all the ski areas and villages in the Chamonix valley. The UCPA has minibuses which they use to transport instruction groups between the various ski areas when required.

Rooms

  • Multishare rooms are 4 -6 person rooms
  • Twin rooms are available for a small supplement
  • Bathrooms are shared

The bedrooms are not en suite. WC and shower facilities are available in the corridors and are shared between rooms.

Dining

The meals are buffet style with various options to pick from. Breakfast options include yogurts, cereals, bread, fruit juice, coffee and tea. Don't be surprised to see hot drinks are taken French style, from a soup bowl!

Typically lunch is prepared at breakfast and taken up the mountain to be eaten as a picnic. There is a always a good variety of bread, meats, cheeses, salad and fruit available.

Dinner is a 3 or 4 course buffet. Typically there is soup or salad option for starter, a main course (fish, meat, vegetarian alternative) desert and a meat and cheese board to finish.

Any special dietary requirements should be made known to reception staff at check-in. Generally vegetarians will find a suitable option within the buffet.

Entertainment

The UCPA staff lay on an entertainment program each week. There is no pressure to take part in any of the activities. A typical activity programme includes stretching, a quiz night, karaoke, a pub crawl and a live band. There are a number of local bars if you would prefer to leave the centre in the evenings.
