Getting to Chamonix

By Air: Chamonix is just an hour’s drive from Geneva airport making it one of the most accessible ski resorts and the perfect location for short breaks. Easy Jet offers a regular and reasonably priced service to Geneva from a number of UK airports.

A great website to use when planning your trips is Rome to Rio, which gives you lots of options , costs and links to book various travel options: Rome2Rio

Airport Transfers: Airport Transfers: Our transfer partner Mountain Drop Offs provides a shared transfer option directly from Geneva airport to Argentiere. They have a dedicated desk at the airport which makes them easy to find. The 8 person minibuses are extremely frequent and Mountain Drop Offs aim to have you on your way to resort within an hour, however this may vary at busy times. The shared transfer service is available  for flights arriving between 07:00 and 21:55 and departure flights leaving Geneva between 09:30 and 21:00. To book a transfer just add it under travel options on the booking screen. The transfer take approximately 1.5hrs.

*Shared Transfer service is only available for flights arriving on Wednesdays or Saturdays. For other alternative days, please contact the office.

*Reduced service from April 8th 2018 - contact the office with your proposed flight times to ensure we have a suitable transfer before booking.

*Please note for shared transfers Mountain Drop offs will make every effort to wait for delayed flights, customers who are significantly delayed will be moved where possible to the next available transfer. Customers delayed beyond the last transfer may be placed on the first bus the following morning.

By Coach: Our partner company Snowexpress offers affordable and hassle free transport to the Alps, perfect for avoiding busy airports and peak season air fares! Snowexpress coaches travel through the night from London Victoria to resort arriving on time to hit the slopes on Saturday.

By Train: It is possible to reach Chamonix by train, the TER and TGV train services go to St Gervais which is 20km from Chamonix. From there you can take a local SNCF connection through to Chamonix town centre. We generally don’t recommend train travel due to ticket prices and the lack of a direct connection.

By Car: Chamonix is easily accessible by road with the Autoroute Blanche (A40) coming directly to Chamonix. The drive from the UK takes about 10 hours and goes through some nice scenery along the way but don’t forget to budget for French toll roads!

  • No matter how hard you try, when you book everything separately (especially with the Euro and price of food at the moment), you will never beat UCPA.

  • UCPA is a unique and brilliant experience, I would not describe it as a hotel but also not hostel it is somewhere in-between. Its a place where meeting people and making friends...

  • There is always a range of ages, nationalities, mixtures of solo travellers, couples, groups etc. We have booked as a group of 6, a group of 36 (no joke) and even just me and my boyfriend – it works for all.
