Getting to La Plagne

By Air: The closest airport to La Plagne is Chambery although most people fly to Geneva due to the greater availability of flights and transfers to the resorts. Flying to Geneva is easy from most UK airports.

Airport Transfers: Airport Transfers: We offer an airport transfer service from Geneva airport on Saturdays with our partner company Simply Transfers. If you would like to use this service please add ‘Airport Transfer’ under travel options on the booking screen. Approximate transfer times are below, you will be allocated a place on a bus depending on the flight times you provide us with.

Booster seats are available for children but must be booked in advance.

16 Dec - 21 April Estimated transfer times -

Depart Geneva: 10:00, 12:30, 14:45, 17:00, 19:30, 21:30*

Arrive in Geneva: 08:00*, 10:15, 12:30, 14:30, 17:15, 19:15

 

The transfer has an approximate time of 3.5hrs, however this may vary significantly depending on weather and traffic conditions. Please be aware that where disruptions are forecast transfers to the airport may depart significantly earlier.

Additional Information:

If you are travelling midweek you must arrange your own travel, please note there are limited options available. Altibus may offer some mid-week options however their timetable may not be confirmed until the start of winter.

*Please note for shared transfers you must arrive with plenty of time to pass through security and baggage collection, we estimate that it takes approximately an hour to go through Geneva Airport however at peak times this may be significantly longer. Simply Transfers operate on a timetable system and aim to depart on time, customers on delayed flights will be moved to the next available transfer, and customers delayed beyond the 21:30 transfer may be placed on the first bus the following morning. Flights should depart Geneva no earlier than 10:00.


By Coach: Our partner company Snowexpress offers affordable and hassle free transport to the Alps, perfect for avoiding busy airports and peak season air fares! The coaches travel through the night arriving in resort on Saturday afternoon. The return coach departs resort Saturday evening giving you a full day in resort.  


By Train: The closest train station to La Plagne is in Aime which is 19km away.  There is a regular bus service operating between Aime and La Plagne you can check times here: www.mobisavoie.fr. Getting to Aime is easy from Paris and takes in some lovely scenery along the way, a good alternative to flying although not always the cheapest option. 


By Car: La Plagne is easily accessible by road. The drive from the UK takes about 10 hours and goes through some nice scenery along the way but don’t forget to budget for French toll roads!  There is limited free car parking available outside the centre and there is guarded/covered parking nearby for approximately 50 euros for the week.  The UCPA address is: UCPA Le France, Plagne Centre, 73210 Mâcot-la-Plagne. Please view the location on google maps here. Please be aware there are two UCPA centres in La Plagne, make sure you have directions to the correct centre - UCPA La Plagne Le France.
