La Plagne Ski Area
The La Plagne ski area is largely based around a huge bowl surrounding Plagne Centre with more skiing extending over to Belle Plagne and the Glacier de Bellecote. The area is a very good size with 225 km of piste of all grades serviced by 109 lifts. With much of the skiing over 2000m and many of the slopes north facing the conditions tend to be very good throughout the year and it is considered to be a very snowsure destination.
The lift network in La Plagne is excellent with continuing investment in new technology. During the 2009/2010 season a number of new lifts and replacement lifts were introduced which have greatly improved the overall network. As a result of the superb lift system queues are generally minimal in La Plagne except during peak season. The pinnacle of the lift network is the Vanoise Express cable car which links La Plagne to Les Arcs to form the huge Paradiski ski area, the lift cost 16 million to build and is a 200 person capacity double decker!
If you want to upgrade to the Paradiski lift pass, you can do this at reception when in resort for approximately €30 a day.
