Getting to Les Contamines

By Air: The closest airport to Les Contamines is Geneva which is 100km away, mostly along motorway apart from the last 20km, making Les Contamines one the more easily accessible resorts. There are a number of flights to Geneva from a nearly every UK airport most days.

A great website to use when planning your trips is Rome to Rio, which gives you lots of options , costs and links to book various travel options: Rome2Rio

Airport Transfers: We offer a private airport transfer service from Geneva airport to Les Contamines with our partner company Action Transfers. The transfer is flexible to suit your flight arrival times and takes approximately 1.5hr to get to resort.

Alternatively it is possible to take a train/bus/airport transfer to the neighbouring town of St Gervais. From here there is a fairly regular bus to Les Contamines.

We are aware that OuiBus (BlaBlaBus) currently operates a service from Geneva airport to Les Contamines at the time of writing (January 2020). Please check their times.

Family Week transfers:

Shared transfers are available during family weeks only. Transfers are scheduled according to flight times, there is not a set timetable. However the last transfer departs Geneva at 21:30, please allow plenty of time to pass through the airport, we estimate it takes 1 hour to go through security and baggage collection however at peak times this may be significantly longer. For flights departing Geneva please book flights that leave no earlier than 10:30.

*Please note for shared transfers every effort will be made to wait for flights delayed up to 90 minutes, if a flight is delayed over this time the transfer may be rebooked which could incur a charge.

If your child requires a booster seat, you should bring your own, as the transfer company may not be able to provide these.

By Coach: Our partner company Snowexpress offers affordable and hassle free transport to the Alps, perfect for avoiding busy airports and peak season air fares! Coaches travel through the night from London Victoria to resort arriving in time to hit the slopes on Saturday.

By Train: The nearest train station to Les Contamines is Saint Gervais (14km) although Geneva and Anemasse are also close by and are slightly easier to get to. From Saint Gervais there is a bus service onto les contamines although this may need to be booked in advance.

By Car: Les Contamines is easily accessible by road although the road leading up to the resort can become quite snowy so snow chains or winter tyres are extremely advisable. The drive from the UK takes about 10 hours and goes through some nice scenery along the way but don’t forget to budget for French toll roads! There is a large free, non covered, non guarded car park very close to the centre with approximately 80 spaces.

  • No matter how hard you try, when you book everything separately (especially with the Euro and price of food at the moment), you will never beat UCPA.
