Getting to Les Contamines

By Air: The closest airport to Les Contamines is Geneva which is 100km away, mostly along motorway apart from the last 20km, making Les Contamines one the more easily accessible resorts. There are a number of flights to Geneva from a nearly every UK airport most days.

A great website to use when planning your trips is Rome to Rio, which gives you lots of options , costs and links to book various travel options: Rome2Rio

Airport Transfers: We offer a private airport transfer service from Geneva airport to Les Contamines with our partner company Action Transfers. The transfer is flexible to suit your flight arrival times and takes approximately 1.5hr to get to resort.

Alternatively it is possible to take a train/bus/airport transfer to the neighbouring town of St Gervais. From here there is a fairly regular bus to Les Contamines.

We are aware that OuiBus (BlaBlaBus) currently operates a service from Geneva airport to Les Contamines at the time of writing (January 2020). Please check their times.

Family Week transfers:

Shared transfers are available during family weeks, if you would like to use this service please select “Geneva Shared Transfer” under travel options on the booking screen.

Transfers are scheduled according to flight times and there is not a set timetable. Flights are grouped together to allow for one pick up/drop off time and therefore please expect a wait at the airport (usually this should be no more than 1-1.5hrs though it may be more if flights are delayed).

Timetable for 21/22 TBC (we recommend that you book flights that arrive in Geneva before 20:30 and depart Geneva no earlier than 10:30)

If your child requires a booster seat, you should bring your own, as the availability and necessity of these will depend on the vehicle that is used.

Transfer bookings are made on the assumption that the transfers will be able to run with full capacity. If the transfer company has to run their transfers with reduced capacity we will contact you to let you know your options.

By Coach: Our partner company Snowexpress offers affordable and hassle free transport to the Alps, perfect for avoiding busy airports and peak season air fares! Coaches travel through the night from London Victoria to resort arriving in time to hit the slopes on Saturday. The coach to Les Contamines is usually only available during family weeks. However, you can book directly with Snowexpress to go to 'St Gervais Les Bains - Le Fayet' and then take a public bus to Les Contamines from there (just double check the timings with the local tourist information or online bus timetables).

Coach bookings are made on the assumption that the coach will be able to run with full capacity. If Snow Express has to run the coaches with reduced capacity, we will contact you to let you know your options.

By Train: The nearest train station to Les Contamines is Saint Gervais (14km) although Geneva and Anemasse are also close by and are slightly easier to get to. From Saint Gervais there is a bus service onto les contamines although this may need to be booked in advance.

By Car: Les Contamines is easily accessible by road although the road leading up to the resort can become quite snowy so snow chains or winter tyres are extremely advisable. The drive from the UK takes about 10 hours and goes through some nice scenery along the way but don’t forget to budget for French toll roads! There is a large free, non covered, non guarded car park very close to the centre with approximately 80 spaces.
