The coastline and waves around Peniche are well known for their surfing. The UCPA centre in Peniche focuses on surfing instruction. Outside of your surfing lessons, enjoy soaking up the sun, relaxing on the beach, or exploring the local area.

Peniche is a specialist surfing centre. There are numerous amazing surf spots located close by to the centre and this ensures that you'll always find great waves.

Peniche is a year round destination with swell exposure on the north side of the town and shelter on the south. October – March sees the biggest swell, best waves, perfectly suited for intermediates and experts (depending on the spot). April – September: More Inconsistent and smaller waves. Perfect for beginners as well as intermediates.

Surfing  

Peniche has long been known by surfers for the diversity of its surf spots, including the legendary "Supertubos" which hosts each year one of the stages of the world championship. The surfing courses here are suitable for all levels of surfer and after your day on the waves, you can soak up the summer atmosphere and strong surf culture in the area, think cool shops, cafes and bars!
