How fit do you need to be?

You don’t need to be super-fit to wingfoil. However, a general level of fitness will help you progress faster, give you more stamina on the water and help you avoid injuries. A background in windsurfing, kitesurfing or surfing will obviously give you a massive boost when learning this sport. The kit is lightweight, so you don’t need lots of muscle strength either. You should be able to swim if you want to take on this course.

What will I be able to do by the end of the week?

Well this is up to your speed of progression really, but people do tend to find wingfoiling easier to learn than kitesurfing or windsurfing. It's likely that by the end of the week you've grasped the basics of wingfoiling, made your first carves and now experimenting with the wing and riding techniques to see how that affects your speed and control.

Thinking about your impact on the sea?

Sea friendly suncream - we want you to protect the sea, but we also want you to protect your skin without threatening the environment. The best option at the moment for eco-conscious sea lovers is to swap out those chemical sunscreens for ones with mineral ingredients like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide that reflect the sun off your skin, without threatening the environment.
