With most of the skiing above 2000m in La Plagne and mainly north facing slopes, the conditions tend to be good throughout the season and it is regarded as a snow sure resort. For the expert skiers, there are two glaciers in this ski area which you can ski on above 3000m and if you’re not quite ready for this yet, you can just go up to look at the panoramic views.

The lift system is very modern with continual investment in new lifts keeping queues to a minimum. This ski area has 225km of slopes to choose from, the majority are easy or intermediate, however there is some great freeride terrain and difficult slopes for experts.

There are two snowpark areas suitable for all levels, which at 2.5 hectares makes it one of the largest in Europe. Known as the ‘7 Cube’ snowpark, it has a full variety of features in varying difficulties as well as a great Board-X course boardercross. La Plagne also has a full size 90 half pipe located in Plagne Bellecote.

UCPA La Plagne is located in La Plagne Centre which, as its name suggests, is the main village within the resort. The main lift access is from here and it is the ideal base to explore the ski area from. La Plagne Centre has an excellent selection of shops, an ice rink and the best choice for nightlife amongst the surrounding villages. There are a few excellent après ski spots if you search them out with lots of bars offering life music and sunny terraces. All villages are easily accessible by free local buses or you can ski between them.

The centre is ideally located right above a piste and is in a fantastic location in the middle of La Plagne Centre with easy access to the bars, shops and services yet metres from the main lift. Not only is it ski-in-ski-out, it is ski right through the building! There is a ski tunnel through the building. The centre has been recently renovated and is now one of the most luxurious UCPA centres, receiving the top comfort rating.

All UCPA meals are buffet style and with multiple servings the norm; you won't go hungry.

Breakfast is normally yogurts, cereals, fruit juice, coffee and bread - don't be surprised to see that the coffee and tea is taken in a bowl!

It is possible to return to the centre for lunch everyday where you will find 1 or 2 hot options available. As with all meals there will be a salad bar, plenty of bread, cheese, meat and of course desert. If you prefer you can make a packed lunch at breakfast time and eat on the mountain. Either way you will save a fortune avoiding the piste side restaurants.

Dinner is a 3/4 course buffet - typically a salad bar style starter, a choice of 3 hot main courses, a cheese and cold meat platter and ice cream/dessert.

Due to the cost focussed nature of UCPA and the wide range of dietary requirements, it is impossible to accommodate everyone as standard. If you have any severe dietary requirements please contact the centre two weeks before to let them know. Generally speaking vegetarians will find plenty of options, with vegan options being a little more scarce but improving year on year.
